• I am Caroline Larrière, an artist guided by color, matter, and the emotions they evoke. Trained at the Beaux-Arts, I have always been driven by creation and the search for new textures and sensations.

  • My journey has taken me from India to Thailand, two countries where color is not only visible: it is felt, breathed, and experienced. These years have shaped my perspective and fueled my desire to create vibrant, sensory, and living works.

  • It was in Thailand that my encounter with Teck and Catherine, at their Himapan workshop, marked a decisive turning point. Their teaching transmitted to me the delicate and demanding art of painting on lotus leaves, a rare technique where patience, precision, and gentleness are essential.
This discovery has become for me a true artistic language, a way to express the beauty of the world through nuances, materials and emotions.

  • The lotus leaves I use are carefully prepared by Thai families: the skin is removed, leaving only the fragile, organic, and refined skeletal structure of veins. Thanks to my training in Himapan, I learned to enhance this natural structure while respecting its delicate nature.

  • Each work is an encounter between light, color and poetry — an invitation to feel and to dream.
